Unable to determine manufacture date because the barrel code seems to be mistamped.

Left it without oil in a closet next to bathroom which was the cause (I assume) of a lot of surface rust. I then tried to clean using a Scotch-Brite green pad which removed the bluing and scratched it up. Dumb.

Introduced in 2000 as a special anniversary edition of the world's best selling pump shotgun, the Model 870 Wingmaster Classic Trap has returned as a regular member of the Model 870 family. This target gun features special fine line engraving with gold inlay on the polished blue receiver and a gold plated trigger.

The semi-fancy American walnut, Monte Carlo stock and fore-end display deep cut checkering and a high-gloss finish. The Model 870 Wingmaster Classic Trap features a 30-inch light contour vent rib target barrel with twin bead sights (ivory front bead and steel mid-bead) and includes three specialized trap Rem™ Choke tubes (Singles, Mid Handicap, and Long Handicap).
